Study Area

Care and work in health and nursing

It involves studies on health and nursing care for individuals, families and communities in the different stages of the human life cycle. It covers qualitative and epidemiological studies about relevant themes in our society, such as chronic-degenerative diseases, communicable diseases, aging and health management.

The work permeates part of these studies, carrying out a comprehensive approach and thus contributing to the development of socially relevant knowledge. The needs generated by changes in work in the globalized world that are reflected in work in general and in work in health are studied in the context of the aging of the working population, the resurgence of communicable diseases, the changes in health care strategies, such as the Psychiatric Reform and the Family Health Program, and of the health and nursing management, focusing on quality systems, on the use of information technologies and on work in health and nursing.
